Three Science Projects

If you assemble your materials ahead of time, you can do any or all of the projects with Ms. Maria.  Or you can watch Ms. Maria and then do the projects later.  Below you'll find the list of materials you need for each project. 

A.  Walking Water:  Absorption

• 5 small cups/glasses - preferably all the same height
• Water (we’ll use 2-3 cups)
• 3 colors liquid food coloring - preferably yellow, blue, and red
• 2 - 3 paper towels
• 1 small spoon
• Scissors

B.  Water Pictures:  Absorption

• 2 - 3 small cups/glasses - don’t have to be the same size
• 2 - 3 paper towels
• Water (we’ll use about 1 cup)
• Scissors
• 1 black/brown Sharpie (or other permanent marker) - regular or fine point, not ultra-fine point
• 2 - 4 regular (washable) markers, any bright colors (not permanent and not dry-erase)

C.  Leaky Bag:  Other Molecules

• 2-3 small plastic sandwich bags
• 3-4 sharp pencils (preferably long pencils, not short)
• Large bowl
• Water (we’ll use about 3 cups)
